What you're seeing
Nodes represent entities (people, places, groups) extracted via dictionary matching against a curated list of ~250 biblical names, plus concept keywords from per-book TF-IDF. An edge connects two entities if they appear in the same chapter; edge weight is the number of chapters in which they co-occur. The layout is a D3 force-directed simulation: connected nodes attract, unconnected nodes repel. Node size scales with total mention count.
Try this
- Filter to "People" and raise the minimum edge weight to 10+ to see the core relational skeleton: God–Moses–Aaron–Pharaoh, Jesus–Peter–John.
- Filter to "Places" and notice how Jerusalem dominates as a hub connecting both testaments.
- Lower the minimum mentions threshold and watch concept nodes appear, bridging entity clusters.
